The Opportunity
A Second Practice, on Your Own Schedule
Medical-legal work pays per evaluation, books around your clinic, and can be done by telehealth in several specialties. The barrier is not the medicine. It is a three hour examination on the Labor Code, the regulations, the AMA Guides, and report writing.

The Examination
What You Are Preparing For
A computer-based multiple choice examination of up to three hours, offered twice a year, covering four competency areas. It tests the common language of the California system, not your specialty. A psychologist, a podiatrist, and an orthopedic surgeon all sit for the same exam.

A sixteen hour report writing course is also required before appointment. We will guide you towards the approved providers and help you schedule it.
